Join us as a Legal Monitor and contribute to strengthening prisoners’ judicial protection!
We are looking for volunteers with fluent English to monitor key legal developments (legislation and case law) on prison-related issues.
This work will contribute to our regular legal updates, which reach over 25,000 individuals across 20 European countries, including representatives of human rights NGOs, practising lawyers, judges, researchers, and human rights institutions.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and summarise significant legal developments on prison issues in your country.
- Contribute to the drafting and publication of legal resources for NGOs, activists, law practitioners and researchers involved in prison litigation and advocacy work at national and international levels.
- Work closely with a dedicated team committed to advancing prisoners’ rights across Europe.
What We Offer
- Enhance your legal analysis skills by working with real case law and legislation.
- Collaborate with experienced practitioners of prison and penal law across Europe.
- Engage with a wide network of more than 30 NGOs, including some of the most prominent human rights NGOs in Europe, and contribute to advancing human rights and democratic values on the continent.
- Participate in online and in-person workshops and seminars hosted by the network to increase your knowledge of European prison and penal law.
This is a voluntary role, but your work will make a real impact. Whether you are a law student, legal researcher, or practitioner interested in prison law, we welcome your expertise and dedication.
